Rainbow Quilt Giveaway !

It's been one of those seasons when almost everything that can go wrong...does!  I'm feeling like I need to put some positive energy back into the universe. So.......
Here's a giveaway!

I purchased this kit about 10 years ago at the Lancaster County Quilt Show. It has been sitting in a stash bin ever since. At this point, I'd rather see someone actually make it than have it sit here any longer.

This kit has never been opened. It is a Rainbow Star Quilt designed by Kathleen Starr. It measures 79" x 99" and the kit includes everything for the top...even the binding :)

So, here's what you need to do to have a chance to win...
Simply send me a quote in your comment that has helped you stay strong during a rough time in your life. I will  be using Mr. Random on  Saturday, June 30th, which gives you plenty of time to be thoughtful about your entry and share this incredible opportunity with all your friends.
Please make sure that I have an email address to contact you if you are the lucky winner!

Good Luck and have a great day!!

"In everything give thanks." You can always find something to be thankful for in any situation. My friend was on here way to the summit to ski and her GPS took her in the opposite direction to some random bar (she was lost) and she decided to stay. It is a good thing she did. It was providence. That day 5 people died in an avalanche at the summit. It could have been her. Getting lost and having a beer saved her life.

Dear Zurn, firstly, thank you for giveaway! Nice quilt would come from this! :)
And , secondly, I remember two very simple things - all what happens is to the best.. And other - everything passes and this thing will pass too....
Though really sometimes it's so hard to believe it...
And, the thing I learned after I met you, is - say "thank you" to every day you have... It's not so easy sometimes too, but it helps.
Love and peace for you...

Here is this Chinese parable I think of whenever an undesirable event occurs in my life. http://psychcentral.com/blog/archives/2010/07/22/the-old-man-and-his-horse/

Whenever a bad thing happens in China, someone will say “Sai Weng Shi Ma” (Remember “The Old Man Who Lost His Horse”) to remind themselves not to judge an event as either good or bad.

Be well.

There are a couple of old cliches I like: "it's not the end of the world" and "life's too short." When I remember these things, it makes the bad things not seem so bad after all :)

"The fear of man leads to a snare, but he who trusts in the Lord is safe." (Pro. 29:25) I love this verse and actually put it on many of my quilt labels.

I love what Sew Very Sherry said. I always told my children that "perfect love casts out fear." God has blessed me richly and except for the deaths of my parents I have not had too many bad times.

Sometimes a long soak in the tub followed by a nap helps me take time to restore some positive energy, but usually doing something (usually quilt related) for someone more needful than myself chases away the stress.

What a beautiful fabric quilt kit. Certainly would be fun to create with it.

I've had many favorite "you can do it" sayings over the years - but after seeing the movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - this is my new favorite - "It is always a happy ending. If it's not happy - then it's not the ending." Thank you for sharing your creativity with us in blogland - it's appreciated!

i had a time in high school when i was the subject of gossip my father said to me " well honey just remember when they are talking about you they aren't talking about someone it would really hurt" at the point i realized they couldn't hurt me if i didn't let it

I have had a few rough times but I have managed to live through them. I try to realize that in many cases "there isn't anything I can do about it". My family usually tries to find the good things that come about. We usually expect the bad but are pleased about the good!

Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid, for the Lord your God goes with you! It's hard sometimes to keep your head up and keep plowing through (family drama is the worst!) but you WILL vevetually come out stronger on the other side! :)

PS: I love to quilt and am hoping I got your genetics. ;) Your quilts amaze me!! <3

John 16:33
In the world you shall have tribulations but, be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. In me, you have peace. ~Jesus Christ

This is one that helps me. Even in my darkest times, my Angels are louder than ever, leading me to the light in the new horizon. When my faith falters, the Angels power-up their love and faith to overcome my darkness. They have never failed me. I hope this can help even one person, then overcoming my shyness was worth it 100x.

"Don't curse the darkness, light a candle." When things are darkest, take action. Lighting a candle will help not only yourself, but may help someone else lost in the darkness. Working together we can make the world a better place.

Though I am not religious my favorite saying is " to thy own self be true". It helps when you have a hard decision to make.

I completely lost track of time, but I wanted to leave a few words. I hope your outlook is brighter now, and you can store these for a rainy day:
I have a quotable card that always makes me smile:
"If you're going through hell, keep on going" (Winston Churchill)
also
"In the midst of winter, I finally learned there was in me invincible summer." (Albert Camus)
"You are a child of the Universe, no less than the moon and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the Universe is unfolding as it should." (Max Ehrmann)

I have a whole collection ;)
